History

Wimbledon Farm was originally established in 1971 on 320 acres. It has increased steadily in size and now encompasses over 1000 acres of gently rolling bluegrass in Fayette County that is the home to over 150 Thoroughbred horses. It is owned and operated by Hilary J. Boone, Jr.

The focus of the farm is on commercial breeding and stallion development. The current stallion roster includes Lion Cavern, sire of three champions and 27 stakes horses including Classic Winner Crimplene in Six European Crops.

The farm holds the unique distinction of having raised both a Kentucky Derby winner, Spectacular Bid, and an English Derby winner, Golden Fleece.

There have been four grade one winners/performers born or raised at Wimbledon Farm from 2000. They include Mezzo Soprano, Membership, Dutch Gold and Danuta. It has had nine grade two winners/performers born or raised on the farm. They include Mezzo Soprano, Membership, Dutch Gold, Danuta, Tolzey, Sea Dart, Maantab, Romaric, Silver Seeker and Pearl Grey. The grade three stakes winners/performers born or raised on the farm are Meteor Miracle, Leading Lioness and Hennie’s Song.

There are twenty seven grade one winning/performing dams that have boarded or are borading at Wimbledon Farm. They include Cara Rafaela, Colour Chart, Housa Dancer, Storm Song, Golden Opinion, Musical Bliss, Showlady, The Caretaker, Link River, Embassy, Venize, Sainte Marine, Sulk, Wajd, Sha Tha, Rosefinch, Well Chosen, Cherokee Rose, Northern Meteor, Incinerate, Alydaress, Diamond on the Run, Eternal Reve, Intrepidity, Mossflower, Nice Assay and Bahr.
